Objectives of the Comprehensive Economic Survey

By launching the Comprehensive Economic Survey, the General Authority for Statistics seeks to achieve several objectives, including: providing statistical data and indicators to update the base year for the gross domestic product (GDP), contributing to the development of the Saudi economy, and supporting the diversification of its resources, supplying accurate data and indicators for updating the GDP base year, updating the statistical business register, and providing data that highlight opportunities while identifying challenges hindering economic development.

The statistical data provided by the survey supports decision-makers, policymakers, and investors in utilizing the data for local, regional, and international comparisons, as well as conducting studies and analyses. The collected data contributes to the development of strategies, development plans, programs, and performance indicators within establishments, aimed at enhancing economic activities.

Phases of the Comprehensive Economic Survey

The survey is conducted in two phases. The first involves listing all establishments and institutions in the Kingdom. The second targets a sample of establishments across various economic activities. This approach helps build a comprehensive framework to enhance economic activities in the Kingdom.
