Bakr Bin Fahd al-Sheddi (1959 - 2003) was a theater and television actor. He contributed to the development of the narrative structure of Saudi dramatic works. He obtained a doctoral degree in dramatic literature. He participated in Arab and local series and shows of the Arab world, such as Tash Ma Tash, Eftah Ya Semsem, and Salamtak show.

Al-Sheddi is considered a comedy actor. He also assumed the position of advisor to the Theatrical Arts Committee of the Culture and Arts Society.

Life of Bakr al-Sheddi

Bakr al-Sheddi was born in al-Uyun City, in al-Ahsa Governorate. He grew up in Buqayq Governorate and was educated in its schools. Its theatrical acting talent became apparent at an early age when it became evident that he had imitation skills in the school's theater. Upon enrolling at the university, he had more room to showcase his talent regularly. His abilities were developed during his studies at King Saud University. He became popular during the seventies. His play "Qitar al-Haz" was a reason for his fame, namely since it is the first play in which he took part.

Qualifications of Bakr al-Sheddi

Bakr al-Sheddi graduated from King Saud University with a bachelor's degree from the English Language Department. He then pursued television and theatrical work. He traveled to the United States of America to pursue his higher education, where he obtained a master's degree from Ohio University before earning a doctoral degree with honors from Britain in 1988.

Theatrical works of Bakr al-Sheddi

Bakr al-Sheddi was one of the actors sent by the General Presidency of Youth Welfare (currently the Ministry of Sport) to attend courses and programs abroad. He later participated in roles with notable Saudi and Gulf actors. His works encompass TV series, plays, and shows. He assumed leading roles in several series, including al-Awlama, Azareeb, Shahad, al-Malqouf, and al-Dakatira Saad. Shows in which he appeared include al-Maqha al-Arabi, Ward wa Shawq, Laila Saudiya, and Min Kul Bustan Zahra.

Bakr al-Sheddi theater in Riyadh

Bakr al-Sheddi was honored during the eighth edition of the Community Theater Groups Festival. He was also honored during the eleventh cycle of the Dammam Theater Festival. Upon his death, Turki Al al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, named one of the "Riyadh Season" theaters "Bakr al-Sheddi Theater" during the Season's first edition. The theater has a capacity of two thousand seats.
