Othman Mahmoud al-Sini (born in 1955) is a Saudi writer, critic, and researcher. He is the chairman of the board of directors of the Intangible Heritage Association and editor-in-chief of the Saudi al-Watan Newspaper. He has been working in the Saudi press field for nearly three decades. He was appointed editor-in-chief of "al-Majalla al-Arabia" and worked as secretary of Taif Literary Club.

Upbringing and education of Othman al-Sini

Othman al-Sini is born in Makkah al-Mukarramah, west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was educated in Taif City before enrolling at the College of Shariah and Islamic Studies. He earned a bachelor's degree in Arabic language and Literature and a diploma in Educational Management and Planning from the College of Education at Umm al-Qura University. He pursued his higher education at the same university where he obtained a master's degree in linguistics before earning his doctoral degree in Arabic linguistics in 1990.

Professional life of Othman al-Sini

Othman al-Sini worked as a public education teacher. He was appointed lecturer at the College of Education in Taif before becoming an assistant professor and then an associate professor. He assumed the position of chairman of the Arabic Department for several years before being appointed member of the board of directors of the Taif branch of the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts and head of its Theater Committee. He was appointed secretary of Taif Literary Club. He became editor-in-chief of al-Watan Newspaper in 1999 and remained in office for three years. He was appointed editor-in-chief of "al-Majalla al-Arabia" in 2008. During his term, the magazine turned into a cultural institution. He founded the "Saudi e-Book Website." In 2013, he became editor-in-chief of Makkah al-Mukarramah Newspaper and has been the editor-in-chief of the Saudi al-Watan Newspaper since 2015.

Othman al-Sini participated in several conferences and submitted worksheets for literary clubs, the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts branches, and local and international conferences and seminars.
