Al-Maasha dance performance

Al-Maasha Dance is performed upon forming two rows or an incomplete circle. Rhythms are first played without reciting any poetry, where rhythm announces that the dance performance is about to begin. Then, two people start performing the dance and showcasing their skills. The dance is based on flexible movements, requiring adeptness and agility. Throughout the performance, people continue dancing within the formed row or semi-circle, where two persons begin performing as soon as two dancers step out. Al-Maasha dance is often performed in the evening, after al-Isha prayer, from which the dance takes its name.
