Orfan Arafah

Orfan Mohammed Arafah is a Saudi consultant physician, specializing in orthopedic surgery, hip and knee arthroplasty, and foot and ankle reconstruction. He works as a consultant orthopedic surgeon at King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Orfan Arafah earned a bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah in 2003. He joined the orthopedic surgery residency program at the University of Alberta in Canada in 2012. He was granted a fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty and foot and ankle reconstruction at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada from 2013 to 2014. He obtained a master's of health sciences (MHSc) from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada in 2015.

Orfan Arafah is a member of several scientific societies and associations, including the Canadian Orthopaedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Society, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the Saudi Orthopedic Association, where he serves as chairman of the Foot and Ankle Department. He is also the chairman of the Orthopedic Department at King Saud University in Riyadh.

He led a specialized medical team at King Saud University Medical City in replacing a knee joint using robotic technology for a sixty-year-old patient suffering from a heart and kidney condition in 2022.

During his academic and professional career, Orfan Arafah won several awards, including the Dr. Hastings Mewbourne Graduate Studies Award for the Best Chief Resident in 2012, and the University of British Columbia Academic Performance Award in 2015.
