The Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones (SAFCSP) is a national foundation that operates under the umbrella of the Saudi Olympic Committee. It was established in 2017, and headquartered in Riyadh City, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The federation aims to develop professional local competencies in cybersecurity, software development, and drones, to position the Kingdom among the leading countries in modern technological knowledge.
SAFCSP's vision is to have one programmer among every one hundred Saudis by 2030. Its mission is to empower and build the capabilities of the next generation in the field of advanced technologies. The federation is managed by a board of directors comprising of twelve members, including government officials, academics, and experts from leading Saudi companies.
SAFCSP numbers
Since its establishment until mid-2024, the SAFCSP has trained over 3,200 trainees and organized over 240 events, in addition to more than 150 training courses.
SAFCSP platforms
SAFCSP manages a variety of platforms, including: a vulnerability rewards platform that harnesses the skills of cybersecurity researchers to discover software vulnerabilities; the 'CyberHub' platform, an initiative aimed at developing students' cybersecurity competencies and supporting the establishment of cybersecurity clubs in Saudi universities; the 'Satr' educational platform, which offers specialized courses in technical fields; and finally, the 'CoderHub' platform, focusing on providing theoretical foundations and core concepts essential for a clear understanding of the subject.
SAFCSP initiatives
The SAFCSP launched several initiatives, including:
Tuwaiq Programming Bootcamp: An intensive training program for beginners. The bootcamp supports trainees to refine their programming skills, and opens doors to those who are interested in learning new skills, building websites, or designing applications for their startup business ideas.
Tuwaiq Cybersecurity Bootcamp: A training camp for those interested in cybersecurity. The bootcamp's standards have resulted in a 100 percent employment rate for its graduates, who also earn six specialized certifications.
Tuwaiq Data Scientists Bootcamp: A bootcamp aims to qualify Saudi talents to become data scientists, by utilizing AI tools in data analysis. It is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) and relies on open-source technologies for data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI).
Hajj Hackathon: A gathering held in 2018 with the participation of fifty-one countries to improve the annual pilgrimage experience through innovations that contribute to paving the way for a technically facilitated journey for pilgrims. Its total prize value amounted to SAR30 million.
AI Artathon: It was held in 2020 with the participation of three hundred competitors, including data science and artificial intelligence experts, graphic designers, and artists. They competed to create visual art using artificial intelligence techniques. Its total prize money reached SAR1 million.
Tuwaiq 7/7 Bootcamp: It aims to assist aspiring entrepreneurs in the early stages of building their companies. Participants underwent an intensive seven-week program developed by industry experts and academics, leveraging insights from serial entrepreneurs, corporate partners, investors, and mentors.
TuwaiqYouth Bootcamp: This camp aligns with the interests of tech-savvy youth. It encourages problem-solving and the acquisition of programming languages and other skills.
Homathon: This is an online hackathon designed to address the challenges faced by individuals, communities, businesses, and governments as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It brought together one hundred speakers from fifty-one countries.
