List of Coaches of the Saudi Football National Team in the FIFA World Cup Finals
During its six participations at the FIFA World Cup, the Saudi national team training has been supervised by six coaches from different coaching schools, namely:
Jorge Solari
During the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the Saudi national team was managed by the Argentine coach Jorge Raul Solari, who accomplished remarkable results in the team's history in the World Cup. Solari successfully led the team to the round of sixteen, participating in four matches at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, winning two and losing two.
Carlos Alberto Parreira
Brazilian coach Carlos Alberto Parreira managed the Saudi national team during the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Unfortunately, he did not achieve satisfactory results, losing the first two matches in the group stage. As a result, he was dismissed and replaced by his Saudi assistant, Mohammed al-Kharashy. In the final match, al-Kharashy secured a draw, earning the Saudi national team one point in the tournament.
Nasser al-Johar
During the 2002 FIFA World Cup, national coach Nasser al-Johar led the Saudi national team. However, the team did not perform well, losing all three matches in the group stage and subsequently being eliminated from the competition.
Marcos Paquetá
Brazilian coach Marcos Paquetá managed the Saudi national team during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The team earned a single point in the tournament, drawing in one match and losing two. As a result, the Saudi national team was knocked out during the group stage.
Juan Pizzi
During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Argentine Juan Pizzi managed the Saudi national team. Under his leadership, the team earned three points by winning one match and losing two, which ultimately led to their elimination from the group stage.
Hervé Renard
French Hervé Renard managed the Saudi national team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, achieving a historical triumph over Argentina. However, the team lost two matches, leading to their elimination from the group stage.
