Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber, also known as al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is a non-profit entity aimed at promoting various commercial activities across commercial sectors, representing them before ministries, authorities, and public institutions, and striving to protect and develop them within al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province.

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber is one of twenty-eight chambers of commerce and industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and one of two chambers of commerce and industry in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province. It is a member of the Federation of Saudi Chambers. Its headquarters is located in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah.

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber was established by Royal Order No. 1905, issued on November 24, 1966, and its first board of directors was formed in 1967. The chamber comprises a general assembly, a board of directors, and a general secretariat.

Since its establishment, al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber of Commerce has been keen to be a true reflection of the civilizational position of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah and a representative of its economic activity. This is reflected in its logo, which was updated in its fourteenth session to align with its noble mission and Saudi Vision 2030.

The chamber operates with a vision focused on delivering high-quality solutions, programs, courses, and scientific and practical business models to serve its members and develop research capabilities within al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province. It also focuses on active local and international partnerships to promote and support national development. This is based on its vision of making al-Madinah al-Munawwarah a promising investment center and destination, contributing to sustainable economic development as per Saudi Vision 2030.

Objectives of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber aims to achieve several goals that serve the province's economic development, including:

- Structuring the chamber internally to empower it externally, ensuring efficiency and growth in the chamber's resources, thereby making it a successful model for both public and private sectors.

- Encouraging supportive laws and regulations, activating strategic partnerships, and contributing to the development of laws and regulations with relevant authorities.

- Providing valuable services to enhance the positive mental image of affiliates and improving services offered to them.

- Enabling competitive economic growth by enhancing the effectiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises and collaborating with relevant entities to create an attractive business environment for investment in promising sectors.

- Offering research, studies, and information, and contributing to addressing ongoing changes in the work environment, while achieving effective community development.

Services of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber offers numerous services to its affiliates and beneficiaries, including:

- Certification services for documents and transactions for enterprises.

- Verifying electronic signatures through the documents authentication service.

- Authentication services for visit requests from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

- Electronic authentication services.

- Issuing subscription certificates.

- Issuing a letter of identification for enterprises.

- Issuing a certificate for re-exporting.

- Issuing commercial competition permits.

- Legal services: protest services, dispute settlement services, and valuation services.

Organizational structure of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber has a board of directors formed every four years, with members appointed by the Minister of Commerce. The board is composed of no more than eighteen members, and no more than one member may be elected to represent a single commercial establishment. Additionally, no member is allowed to be elected for more than two consecutive terms. A term is considered complete if it exceeds two years.

The board meets at least once every two months (sixty days) upon the chairman call. An emergency meeting may be convened at any time as deemed necessary. The invitation must include the meeting agenda.

The board is responsible for approving the chamber's general policies and setting plans, programs, and projects to assist in performing its duties. The board also reviews proposed administrative and financial regulations, chamber employee regulations, governance regulations, and training and scholarship regulations, and presents them to the general assembly for approval.

The board of directors also manages the chamber's fixed and movable assets and represents it in leasing, litigation, borrowing, and accepting donations. It monitors the chamber's performance and quarterly reports, reviews the annual report, final accounts, and draft budget for approval, and presents them to the chamber's general assembly for adoption. Additionally, the board provides the Ministry of Commerce with copies of these documents.

The board is responsible for appointing and terminating the services of the secretary-general of the chamber, forming sectoral and internal committees, and delegating them as deemed appropriate.

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber comprises twenty different committees that address the needs and challenges of the employers' community and strive to resolve them. These committees serve as a link between the chamber and various sectors of the state. The committees include the Industrial Committee, the Commercial Committee, the Hajj and Umrah Committee, the Hotels Committee, the Social Responsibility Committee, the Hospitality Committee, the Contractors Committee, the Real Estate Committee, the Recruitment Committee, the Logistics Committee, the Consulting Offices Committee, the Salons and Beauty Centers Committee, the Tourism, Events, and Entertainment Committee, the Agricultural Committee, the Safety Committee, the Entrepreneurship Committee, the Private Education Committee, the Precast Concrete Committee, the Women’s Business Support Committee, and the Endowments Committee.

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Chamber features several business and economic study centers and platforms, including:

- Research and Studies Center: Contributes to the development of laws and regulations with relevant authorities, as well as addressing ongoing changes in the business environment. This can be done by conducting studies and research related to the business sector and providing data and information on commercial and industrial matters to the private sector, government entities, and other concerned entities.

- Business Support Center: Enhances and facilitates communication with the business sector in general and the chamber's affiliates in particular.

- Ershad Platform: An interactive guide for individuals in the community who wish to start their projects and those who already have established businesses, helping them understand the requirements for conducting the activity and service providers to reduce project faltering at various stages.

- Business Experts Platform: Offers consulting services through experts specialized in different business sectors to improve the efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises and help address their faltering.

- Tawteen Platform: Provides national cadre recruitment services to meet the needs of the business sector in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province by offering job opportunities to qualified individuals of both genders across various specialties.

- Musand Alaamal Platform: Aims to assist affiliates by overcoming obstacles they face and facilitating the necessary procedures and transactions with relevant authorities.

-Madinah Investments Platform: Aims to stimulate investment in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province by listing and offering investment opportunities from both public and private sectors. It also enhances partnerships between opportunity providers and investors, and contributes to increasing the local content in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province.
