Rat and al-Manjour mountains are located to the south of Hail City in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, approximately 320 km west of Shuwaymis village. In 2001, archaeological remains were discovered at the site of the two mountains.

Both mountains are of historical importance because they contain rock paintings and sculptures, thus qualifying them to join the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List in 2015.

The archaeological site is located over sandy sedimentary stone that dates back 14,000 years. The site is surrounded by al-Harrat region, and a valley known as Wadi Rat passes through it. Rat Mountain contains artistic images which generally consist of drawings of human and animal figures. They were sculpted in life-size to convey the economic, social, and intellectual life of the Thamudics. Moreover, al-Manjour Mountain is home to camel stone carvings and drawings.
