Aquellum Destination

Aquellum Destination is one of the sustainable tourism destinations in NEOM, located on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba in the northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is nestled within a mountain range and inspired by a futuristic lifestyle. It was announced by the NEOM Board on January 10, 2024.

Aquellum Destination is a future digital community hidden underground, located on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, encased within a 450 m high mountain range. The destination represents an integrated system of harmony within the surrounding natural environment, as it was designed innovatively and built with inspiration from creativity and science fiction, unlike conventional principles. Aquellum provides a diverse range of experiences in its community, all supported by innovative architectural designs that embrace modern technologies and high-end engineering concepts.

Visitors arrive at the Aquellum community through an innovative and remarkable journey. They start their journey from the floating marina next to the mountain, the first floating marina in the world. Afterward, they embark on a boat designated to enter the destination. The boat sails across a water canal in the mountain, which is the main entrance of the subterranean community.

The Aquellum community was designed vertically within the mountain, with its facade facing inward instead of outward. It starts from the water canal ascending one hundred m up to the peak, offering visitors a vertical journey transporting them from the water canal to the community comprising hotel accommodations, apartments, stores, entertainment and recreational areas, innovation centers, and the rooftop garden named 'Cloud Garden.'

'Boulevard,' a vibrant street, extends in Aquellum, passing through a vast park, linking diverse community spaces, luxury hospitality facilities, immersive art performances, various events, shopping stores, and restaurants. The destination also encompasses 'The Generator' Center, a space dedicated to inventors, innovators, and creative thinkers, providing them with a unique platform to reimagine the future.

Aquellum offers a multi-directional internal transport system facilitating access to upper spaces and floors. It transports residents and visitors to their houses and hotels and elevates them to rooftop gardens with coastal views.
