Saudi Aramco al-Jubayl Refinery (SASREF) is a Saudi company wholly owned by Saudi Aramco. The refinery is located in al-Jubayl Industrial City and carries out the process of refining crude oil and converting it into petroleum products to supply local and foreign markets.
The refinery's production capacity is 305,000 bbl per day, and the main products of the refinery are liquefied petroleum gas, naphtha, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil, and sulfur.
The project started in 1981 when the General Petroleum and Mineral Organization (Petromin) and Shell Global signed an agreement to establish an oil refining complex in al-Jubayl Industrial City. The refinery was inaugurated in 1986.
