Salam for Cultural Communication is a national Saudi initiative established in 2015. It is a national project aimed at promoting cultural communication, building bridges with people and cultures around the world, and enhancing the positive image of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its international standing. Salam works on contributing to the development of a cognitive intellectual system around human commonalities, enhancing capacities, and preparing competencies in the field of cultural communication. It also focuses on developing spaces for cultural communication with various communities and cultures, establishing and developing strategic partnerships locally and internationally, and achieving institutional excellence.

Main orientations of Salam for Cultural Communication

Salam for Cultural Communication focuses on three main orientations: knowledge building, empowerment, and active practice. Knowledge building involves conducting research and studies, issuing reports, and developing indicators in cultural communication and public perception, providing the Salam Information Center with them. For achieving empowerment, Salam enhances national capacities through training, educational, and mentoring programs. In terms of active practice, Salam initiative supports community initiatives that build cultural communication bridges between diverse cultures. Salam magnifies these efforts through local and international partnerships with common goals and adopts institutional practices to ensure the sustainability of cultural communication resources.
