The Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute (SEHAI) is a non-profit training institute established in 2007. It is one of the strategic partnership institutes of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Located in ad-Dir'iyah Governorate, Riyadh Province. It aims to qualify Saudi youth for work in electronics maintenance centers and workshops over two years of study and training. The institute was established with the objective of creating a non-profit, selected curriculum-based institute with international standards to meet the needs of the electronics, computer, office equipment, refrigeration and air conditioning devices, and home appliances industries in the Kingdom. SEHAI focuses on developing the skills and abilities of Saudi youth in this field to contribute to economic and social development efforts.

Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute objectives

The Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute aims to equip Saudi youth with technical skills and provide high-level technical training in the field of technology and maintenance of these devices. The collaborating companies in the establishment of the institute have committed to offering employment opportunities after graduates, enabling them to work as technicians in their companies. Companies are responsible for managing and operating the institute, selecting and designing the curriculum, and determining the necessary equipment, devices, and laboratories.

Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Japanese side

In 2009, a technical cooperation agreement was signed with the Japanese side in the Japanese capital, Tokyo. This agreement involved designing the institute's curriculum and programs, determining its equipment and devices, providing resident Japanese experts, and training the trainers in Japan. The institute started operating in 2009. Following the success of this cooperation with the Japanese side, the agreement was renewed for an additional three years.

Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute and job localization

The mission of the Saudi Electronics and Home Appliances Institute is to support and promote the localization of technical jobs by providing high-quality education and training in the fields of electronics maintenance and manufacturing, computer and office equipment, refrigeration and air conditioning devices, home appliances, electromechanics, and customer service technology.

The institute's buildings were constructed on a seventy thousand m² area in ad-Dir'iyah Governorate, Riyadh Province. The buildings cover an area of twenty thousand m². They include four computer labs, four specialized labs, six large workshops equipped with the latest educational devices, training halls, an administration building, a mosque, an auditorium, a dining hall with its facilities, parking spaces, a gym, student housing, and sports fields.
