King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization of the Holy Quran is a global religious competition organized by the General Secretariat of the Holy Quran Competition under the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Contestants from all over the world participate, and the prizes amount to about SAR3 million. The competition is held in the Grand Mosque in Makkah al-Mukarramah.

Branches

King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization of the Holy Quran prize includes several branches:

Branch One: Memorization of the entire Holy Quran, with accurate recitation and intonation following the seven rules of recitation. The first-place winner receives SAR350,000, the second-place winner receives SAR325,000, and the third-place winner receives SAR300,000.

Branch Two: Memorization of the entire Holy Quran, with accurate recitation and intonation along with interpretation of its terms. The first-place winner receives SAR250,000, the second-place winner receives SAR230,000, and the third-place winner receives SAR210,000.

Branch Three: Memorization of the entire Holy Quran, with accurate recitation and intonation. The first-place winner receives SAR200,000, the second-place winner receives SAR185,000, and the third-place winner receives SAR170,000.

Branch Four: Memorization of fifteen consecutive parts with proper recitation and intonation. The first-place winner receives SAR120,000, the second-place winner receives SAR110,000, and the third-place winner receives SAR100,000.

Branch Five: Memorization of five parts with correct recitation and intonation. The first-place winner receives SAR55,000, the second-place winner receives SAR50,000, and the third-place winner receives SAR45,000.

Objectives

The King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization of the Holy Quran prize aims to encourage Muslim youth around the world to compete in memorizing the Holy Quran and reciting it, motivate them to hasten in memorizing the entire Quran, and strengthen the connection of Muslims with the Holy Quran.
