The Small and Medium Enterprises Forum is an event dedicated to small and medium enterprises. It was held on November 27, 2022, in partnership between the Chamber of Commerce in the Eastern Province and the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at). The forum took place at Asharqia Chamber's headquarters in Dammam.

An accompanying exhibition was held alongside the Small and Medium Enterprises Forum, featuring participation from twenty-three financial, governmental, and specialized institutions supporting emerging enterprises. The forum was attended by business sector officials, government officials, and entrepreneurs.

Goals of the Small and Medium Enterprises Forum

The Small and Medium Enterprises Forum aimed to promote creative awareness within the SME sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the Eastern Province. Additionally, it sought to benefit from outstanding and pioneering global experiences in the field of SMEs.

The forum also worked on identifying the main obstacles facing the SME sector in bringing their innovations to fruition. It aimed to identify the best economic sectors for investment by SMEs and support them, activate the role of financial and support entities for SMEs, enhance the competitive spirit among SMEs, and raise awareness of legal matters concerning SMEs.

The forum highlighted the role of Asharqia Chamber in the region, positioning it as one of the top supporters of SMEs. It also aimed to identify the best economic sectors for SMEs to invest in and support, promote the concept of partnerships and alliances as a strategic option for SMEs, and develop the administrative and technical skills of SME owners.

Topics of the Small and Medium Enterprises Forum

The Small and Medium Enterprises Forum discussed several topics and issues, including empowering SMEs in line with Saudi Vision 2030, diversifying sources of financing and investment, the future of the fintech sector in supporting SMEs, testing ideas in entrepreneurship, and methods for qualifying enterprises to obtain financing from commercial banks.
