Ignite The Sound Event

Ignite The Sound is an event organized by the Digital Content Council, chaired by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in collaboration with various government entities. The event aims to support and empower leaders in the audio content sector to achieve high levels of inspiration, influence, growth, and change.

Launched on October 18, 2022, the four-day event is the largest of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Ignite The Sound event highlighted the importance of the podcast sector and raised awareness on a broader scale. It brought together key players in the Saudi audio content market, including investors, entrepreneurs, voice actors (audiobooks, voiceover, dubbing), current audio content creators, and podcast and audiobook listeners.

The event is particularly significant as it coincides with the rapid pace of digital transformation and digital economy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By 2030, the market size is expected to grow by approximately 260 percent, with contributions to the gross domestic product (GDP) anticipated to increase sevenfold and job growth projected to expand twelvefold.

This forum aimed to exchange expertise, develop skills, contribute to the rapidly growing market in the region, share the latest industry developments, and recognize the current leaders in the audio content sector for their contributions to its growth and prosperity.

The first edition of the event attracted over nine thousand digital audio content creators and more than three hundred thousand virtual participants. It featured over seventy-five local and international speakers, thirty-five partners representing both local and global companies, thirty panel discussions, and eighty workshops attended by more than 2,400 male and female beneficiaries.

The event successfully attracted male and female digital content creators, connecting them with their global counterparts, experts, and specialists in the industry. It yielded valuable discussions and innovative ideas, marking a significant step in enhancing the Kingdom's presence in the digital audio content landscape. At the conclusion of the event, several agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between participating companies to support the growth of the digital audio content market in the Kingdom and to empower its creators.
