Madinah Municipality is the entity responsible for developing and providing municipal services and their advancement in the al-Madinah al-Munawwarah region. It is one of seventeen municipalities distributed across the thirteen provinces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Madinah Municipality is organizationally affiliated with the Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing. The municipality's headquarters is in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, about one km from the region's Emirate. It oversees twenty-three municipalities, including Uhud Municipality, al-Haram Municipality, al-Aqeeq Municipality, al-Awali Municipality, Quba Municipality, Yanbu Governorate Municipality, al-Ula Municipality, Khaybar Municipality, Mahd al-Dhahab Municipality, and Yanbu al-Nakhl Municipality.

In 2005, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (currently known as the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing) issued several decisions. These include renaming the regions' municipalities, linking municipalities and rural complexes, and abolishing the General Directorates for Municipal and Rural Affairs. Consequently, the name of al-Madinah al-Munawwara Amana was changed to al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Region Amana. In addition, the municipalities and rural complexes in the al-Madinah al-Munawwara Amana were linked to the Mayor of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Region.

Madinah Municipality's services

Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah region amana offers various services, including customer services, query services, land and planning services, construction licensing services, commercial activity licensing services, health certificate services, investment services, and social services.

Madinah Municipality departments

The municipality comprises seven agencies, five general departments, and six other departments directly linked to the al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Region Amana. The agencies include the Development and Urbanization Agency, the Subsidiary and Suburban Municipalities Affairs Agency, the Projects Agency, the Operation and Maintenance Agency, the Quality Agency, the Investment Agency, and the Support Services Agency.
