The Mother Health Passport is a document specific to pregnant women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is concerned with the mother’s medical history, monitoring and following up on her health condition, performing the necessary examinations and tests, and then documenting this in the passport for use in healthcare centers, to become the first reference for maternal health. It aims to achieve comprehensive healthcare for mothers throughout their pregnancy and childbirth.

Procedures for obtaining the mother health passport

The mother obtains the health passport from the beginning of her pregnancy until six weeks after childbirth. It is used as a portable record between the beneficiary and the healthcare provider, a health education tool, and a means of referral between levels of healthcare services.

Contents of the mother health passport

The mother health passport includes pregnancy, its stages, and symptoms, prenatal visits, postnatal visits, ultrasound scanning during pregnancy, general guidelines for pregnant women, important exercises during pregnancy, a pregnancy classification form, eclampsia, childbirth, and breastfeeding.
