In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, there are numerous gas fields, including al-Wasit gas plant located north of al-Jubayl Industrial City, the Shaybah field situated in the Empty Quarter desert, the Midyan gas plant in Tabuk Province, the offshore Kiran gas field, as well as the gas plant in al-Hawiyyah and the other one located in Fadhili west of al-Jubayl Industrial City.
Saudi Aramco began extracting and utilizing gas to develop additional products in the mid-1970s. The company is the sole supplier of gas in the Kingdom and ranks as the seventh-largest natural gas market globally.
Saudi Aramco produces natural gas liquids, including ethane and condensate, which complement crude oil production and provide feedstock for the refining and petrochemical sectors.
