Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium is a multipurpose sports facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, dedicated to hosting sports fixtures and events, under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport. The stadium is located on the south-eastern side entrance to the city of Dammam.

Establishment of Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium

Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium was established during the reign of King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on January 1, 1973, located in the Mohammed Bin Saud District on the main King Fahd Road in Dammam. The stadium was established on an area of 105,929.06 m, bordered by the second street (Bilal Bin Rabah Street) from the northern and western sides, and by King Fahd Street from the southwest side. The stadium has a capacity of 35,000 spectators, and is the headquarters for several major clubs representing the city of Dammam.

Prince Mohammed Bin Fahad Stadium is the main football stadium in the Eastern Province, with a total area of approximately 106,000 m, a capacity of 35,000 seats, and consists of a natural grass pitch and an athletics track, as well as partially shaded stands.

Facilities of Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium

Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium is surrounded by an array of facilities and amenities, including: an alternate training pitch, a track for athletics competitions, a VIP building and its annexes, a mosque, as well as gardens, outdoor spaces, and parking lots.

The stadium is encircled by concrete fences punctuated with wrought iron formations to make way for all-round visibility from all sides of the stadium with proportional spaces. The stadium is surrounded by five main gates, including two gates and a forty-five-vehicle parking lot on the western side for VIPs, and three gates distributed for services and entry of competing teams. As for the general public parking, parking spaces are allocated on the eastern side with a capacity of 807 cars. Access for the audience is facilitated through three ticket booths equipped with small entrances and exits to ease the flow of the crowd. The stadium's outer perimeter is completely surrounded by green spaces as part of the project.

Readiness of Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium

In 2013, the sports facilities for people with special needs were inaugurated at Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium as part of an initiative to develop facilities for persons with special needs in the Kingdom's main stadiums (Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam). This was part of Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal project to develop the stadium environment.

Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium was selected as one of the stadiums included in the Kingdom’s bid to host the 2027 Asian Cup for the first time in its history, in partnership with the stadiums of the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah.
